I've said over and over again that the See Italy Travel team is motivated by their passion to share the Italy they know and love with as many people around the world as possible. You might find yourself asking "What does 'motivated by their passion' mean?"

Let me answer that by giving you the following examples. Think of doing your taxes. Even though you may receive a refund, which could be a significant amount of money, DOING your taxes is still a chore which is tedious, time-consuming, sometimes confusing and usually an unpleasant experience. In this case the motivation is BOTH financial, getting money back, AND fear based, you MUST complete your taxes or suffer penalties, and STILL most people have to FORCE themselves to do them.

Contrast that with giving a gift to a loved one who you know will be filled with joy and appreciation. Your motivation is based in love and you are probably as excited to give the gift as the person is to receive it. This is exactly how we feel every day when crafting itineraries for our clients. We can't wait for them to experience Italy in ways that will change their lives.

When your motivation is based in love, your path becomes clear, you are in control of your life and "work" ceases to be something you HAVE to do to earn money.

Conversely when money is your main motivation, it's often easy for minor challenges to become major distractions which cloud your judgement and ultimately make you lose sight of your goals. When that happens, everything becomes a chore.

In business it is easy to fall into the trap of making decisions based on fear. "My main competitor sells cruises so I need to sell cruises too." But if you don't like selling cruises you ultimately won't be good at it and your clients will know that you are just selling a commodity. They will question what VALUE you provide to them when they are spending their money with you.

What is your VALUE? For me when I know who I am and what my motivations are then I can easily define the value I provide to my clients. It is doing what I love with the same passion I have when I play with my children. It is knowing that nobody else is like me and the fact that GOD made me unique. God didn’t make me like everybody else therefore I should make decisions based on the inspirations I get when I do what I love.

Even though I love to LEARN, I've come to realize that some things just aren't meant for me. When I come across something that seems so complicated that it becomes frustrating I know that it's best if I just set it aside and go on with my life. I don't mind telling you that it took me a long time to get to this point. After taking “Strengths finders”, “How to fascinate” and the “KOLBE” tests I learned a lot about myself. Now I realize that there is NOTHING wrong with me if I can't do EVERYTHING.

I remember when my oldest daughter took those tests because she was frustrated at that time in her life because she thought that she was taking care of everybody else but NO ONE was taking care of her. When the “How to fascinate” test result described her role as the GUARDIAN and she read the whole description of her character traits it made her smile, it made her feel good, and it helped her become even more accepting of who she is and appreciative of her VALUE.

It's a beautiful thing to be able to accept people for who they are and it's even more so when we allow ourselves to accept OUR OWN strengths and limitations.

When the See Italy Travel family needs to grow and I select great additions to the team, I don’t just look at a person's resume’, I look at their personality and what their goals and motivations are. I learn what their core values are and how they make decisions. If they make decisions in a vacuum, then they are not the right fit for us because they don't see the big picture.

We invest in people who know their own value and who are motivated by sharing their passion and love for Italy with others. We know that this is the perfect combination for See Italy Travel because our client's experience is our ultimate motivation!

I truly hope that you have a wonderful week and that you are as happy as you can possibly be doing what you do each and every day!
